Keylogger is a spy program (spyware) which intercepts and logs every your keystroke Whenever the user enter some data personal information on his system that personal information is screenshot (copies what you see on screen) and image is made and that image is being sent by desire email address. These logs can be stored locally or sent to an attacker using FTP, e-mail, etc.Trojans, worms and viruses usually contain keylogging module, which sends collected private data to hacker.When a hacker sends you Keylogger it just look like a file only if your Anti-virus is strong or you have installed Data Guard Anti Keylogger then Keylogger can be detected otherwise it will look like a normal file and when you click on it Keylogger will be install in your system and it will continue their job now all your personal data will be shared with hacker. Use Good Anti-Virus:-
Always update your antivirus and use good antivirus which as good firewall to protect from viruses and other unwanted data and it should also protect from phishing fake pages which can hack your password.
Antivirus should also block Keylogger and should be automatically deleted from your computer.
Use a Good Antispyware:-
Since keyloggers are basically spywares, if you are a frequent user of Internet then you could be exposed to thousands of keyloggers and spywares. So you should use a good antispyware.
